20 years of impact: thank you for changing the face of men’s health in 2023

Movember
3 minutes read time

The month formerly known as November has come to a close, and with it, over 316,000 rockstar fundraisers rallied for men’s health.

Our supporters sported a fantastic variety of moustache styles, whether it be the faithful ol’ Trucker or the subtle After Eight. And they came from all walks of life – students, friends, family, work colleagues, elite athletes, celebrities

They did it for all the fathers, brothers, sons, partners, friends and men in their lives. Truly, the Movember community knows no boundaries and doesn’t do things by half.

Nor did they hold back when it came to raising much-needed funds and awareness for men’s health. Our supporters are why we've funded more than 1,320 men’s health projects since 2003 – in mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

2023 also marks an incredible milestone: it’s been 20 years since our founding.

We’re proud of our achievements. In fact, we recently announced our biggest single investment to date in men’s health: the launch of the Movember Men’s Health Institute.

It’s a massive investment (seriously, read the story and see just how big). But take our word for it: we’re just getting started in our mission to help men live healthier, happier and longer lives.

Some curly Movember 2023 facts

Did you know…

  • We rallied enough fundraisers to fill Madison Square Garden more than 16 times.
  • Movember supporters doing the Move for Mental Health challenge logged enough kms to travel around the world 140 times. In fact, one person would wear through 8501 pairs of sneakers if they ran the total distance of all our 2023 Mo Movers. Time for some warm-down laps.
  • Over 14,000 people signed up to Host a fundraising event during the month. And if they all ran back-to-back, they'd stretch into a three-year non-stop party. That’s a whole lot of havin’ fun, doin’ good.
  • 27,637 geniuses. That’s how many Mo Mavericks came up with their own out-of-the-box ideas for fundraising. Like pushing for a (new) lawn mower world record (last year’s record was also done for Movember). Celebrating a mass plunge into a frigid lake. A costume a day, all day, every day. You name it, they showed us the true meaning of Mo Your Own Way.

Such incredible achievements tell you everything you need to know about the Movember community’s dedication. Which is why we’re saying it once more: thank you to our Movember community.

While we’ve got your attention…

Did you know that you can still donate? The hairy season may officially be over, but you can make a single donation, or even set up monthly giving.

If you haven’t quite gotten around to supporting Movember, or you feel like you can give a little bit more, here’s your chance.
