My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and I've been supporting their cause for a few years now. Thanks to many of you kind hearts we collected and donated raised $5,123 since 2019 to the Singapore Cancer Society.

Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young. Spread the word.

Yes, Movember is all about growing a mustache to create awareness about this movement. But since I occasionally sport one anyway, I am doing my bit by growing my hair and my beard for the entire month and also donating the savings to the cause. This year I aim to do the 60km walk/run to support Movember.

This is how you can contribute to this cause:
(a) Join The Hearty Tribe - Anyone and everyone can join and become a MoBro or MoSis. Just reach out to me directly and I will add you to the tribe.
(b) Donate - Please donate as much as you can through the link on my page. The funds are give to the Singapore Cancer Society.
(c) Spread the word: Share the message and awareness about men's health issues in general and I am also happy to talk with you and share the details if required.
(d) Share the link - Do share my page link in your circles so that they can support the cause and maybe even become a MoBro or MoSis.

This year, once again, I have a target to collect SGD 3000/- and count on your support. Singapore Cancer Society is the beneficiary for all donations that you make.

Just another Tuesday morning. But the sense of purpose and knowing that this is for my health as much as it is to make a difference for, maybe, just one more person keeps me going!

A nice morning walk thru the cooler part of the east coast park! Did the 16+ km walk and stopped along the way to take some pics, enjoy the sights and sounds as well as talk to some of the folks who were having a great Sunday morning!

A warm morning after a stormy rainy evening and night ... but it felt great to walk towards the Gardens by the Bay! I had never ever walked on the Benjamin Sheares bridge in the last 20+ years even though I have driven on it over those years! Great views of the Gardens, MBS, Barrage, Stadium, and Golden Mile building too!

After a short break over the Deepavali festival, commonly knows as the festival of lights, it felt good to be out there enjoying the early morning sights and sounds. Check out a short video of my walk earlier today. The cool morning breeze and the orange hue of the morning sun peeking thru the clouds was quite motivating - and that helped me convert my planned 7km walk to a 10km walk.

A lovely breezy evening, talking to a couple of colleagues on New Normal and listening to a podcast on Tech & Employee Well-being at Deloitte took me into the zone to walk this thru along the beach and thru the terrace houses of Opera estate.

It was a kaledioscope of colors, sounds, people, activities, birds, sensations, and emotions right thru the 14.5km walk today morning. After a couple of days of rest, kinda forced due to the rains, it was a clearer morning sky and the sun was peaking out thru the clouds.

It was lovely to see people of all races out and about engaged in a range of activities on the seaside - strolling, walking, jogging, running, skating, wave-boarding, cycling, fishing, sailing, shooting photos, cleaning the beach, clearing the walking paths, playing sports like golf, baseball and even badminton on the beach, and the best of all practising the bag-pipe.

Walk’n’Talk - Had to attend meetings but not presenting so it was easy to get out. But wind noise was a challenge to deal with.

It was just my second day in the office since March 2020 and it felt surreal. I saw just 2 other colleagues on the entire floor. But then the back to back calls just consumed the entire day and I managed to clear my late evening calls for a day. This gave me a chance to use public transport to reach halfway home and then I decided to walk down lugging my office and lunch box bags; all in the office wear and with my mask on! The nice breeze along the beach and the soothing sounds of the waves crashing on the beach left me refreshed and relaxed by the time I reached home! Nice walk.

Another day of stormy and windy rains. I loved it though I must say. After 2 days of brisk walks today it was meant to be a rest day but could not resist getting out to enjoy the sights and sounds after the rains and to just relax after a long day and before the next meetings were to start. Fortunately I could participate in one of the meeting while I was out and about - and even had the chance to share the sights with the colleague and friend dialling in from Atlanta (US). Here is a snapshot of what I experienced yesterday when I was out there! Enjoy it.

A few more kilometers towards my personal target and team goal! It was great to get out after a stormy wet day to walk along the beachside on the east coast park!

Most of my family and friends know that the month of November means the Movember time for me. It has been the case for the last few years. Last year I signed up officially to even collect some donations. This year I decided to do a tad more - ask for donations, spread awareness and walk the 60km for the cause. Today I started with these initiatives. I also walked 14.46 km along the East Coast Park today morning.

Stand by me. Support me. Join me.

Hi Santosh,

I’m the Fundraising Manager for Movember Singapore. I just wanted to say well done for being in the top 15 of the Singapore Individual Leaderboard, and raising $2630! I've loved seeing all the donation messages from your wonderful supporters. In true Movember style, I also really appreciate the fact that you generally enjoy the Mo regardless of what month it is.

You are so close to hitting your target, and are clearly smashing it in your first year as a Mo Bro!

Please feel free to shoot me an email at alex.king@movember if there is anything you need or any loose ends that need tying.

United we Mo,
Alex.
